You may have heard the phrase “Money to Burn”. Well we are actually going to burn £5,000 which we were going to use for marketing our album.

However we are only going to do it if we get 500,000 people to join the Facebook group we have set up as a place to discuss, post and view videos and podcasts.

You can get to the Facebook group “We’ve got £5,000 spare and if we get over 500,000 members we’ll burn it!” here, join it and discuss.

We don’t just want people who think it’s a great idea, we want all walks. If you think it’s a bad idea then let us know why.

We look forward to your alligence.

I cannot believe it comes round so quick. It only seems like 5 minutes since we, HOLICE, got together to write, record and release our own singles and albums in our attempts to subvert and take over the music industry for very little money.

“Make the Night Worthwhile” received great radio play throughout August and “BLESSED” turned a few heads on the club scene in September which has been really encouraging.

Of course the idea of putting £25k up for grabs to fans who find the hidden code in our debut album “10 CHAKRAS” when it’s released is also causing some ripples and it’s expected to be quite an event.

You can keep up to date with all our capers on our Facebook page and here on our official blog.

Thank you very much for your continued support and have a merry Christmas and a Happy New Year from HOLICEThe Band That Thinks Of You!!!

All the best,

Chris and Steve xxx

How is the credit crunch and the recession fairing for you? It’s bad all over generally and the music and record industry is suffering a little because people don’t want to pay for music and mp3s. I don’t blame them - I mean why pay for something that came out of thin air?

iTunes, Napster, Shareaza, Limewire, Morpheous, they’re all networks for music even if some of them are illegal. However we have had a cut in VAT from 17.5% to 15%, back to where it was early 90s. This is helping a little bit, especially when you want to buy a laptop or plasma or lcd tv.

If you’re downloading mp3s and music you won’t see any substantial saving. However HOLICE are here to help in times of trouble, the credit crunch, recession and falling income.

HOLICE are releasing their latest album “10 Chakras” as a download on iTunes, Napster and are giving you cash back. Yes indeed it’s true. It could well pay for the download – it may even buy you music for life.

We’ve hidden a code across the 10 songs on the album and once you’ve found it simply register your finding on our website http://holice.coldcommunications.com and if you’re right you will share in the £25,000 we have for you.

This isn’t a competition, you’re not in competition with anyone else. There is no way you can influence the result except by finding the code and registering.

Everyone who finds the code wins a share of the money. If two people find it then it’s £12,500 each and so on.

Is it hard? Is it worth doing? Of course it’s worth doing, a chance that you might be the only person to find the code…. WOW!!!!! £25k thank you.

It’s not hard – it’s actually quite straight forward.

It’s a concept that has grabbed the music industry’s attention and we are currently in talks with Adamski, Gary Barlow and various other big song writer producers who want to be part of something new which has never been done before.

Watch this space.

Hi Folks,

All my best wishes to you – hope you’re well. I’m still working really hard on everything I’m doing at the moment. I’ve been asked to produce a charity single for Children in Need which is released in a few weeks. I have got involved litterally this week which means that even with a fast track release it’ll still be a few weeks before it’s available.

It’s a cover of the Beatles “A Little Help From My Friends” by the Jaxsters and includes the children from Warringotn St. Anns C of E Primary School on the chorus. It will be available on iTunes from the beginning of December.

Also still working at Cheshire FM 92.5 www.cheshirefm.com and loving it. I was talking the other day to a colleague and explaining how I love breaking new music. It then dawned on me about other stations and their attitude toward new artists and bands.

Radio bods always say that it’s not the responsibility of radio stations to break new acts. I disagree. I feel that if you are taking the rewards that music offers, which is listeners, you need to throw something into the pot as well.

To illustrate this imagine a new band approaches a radio station with their new single which they have recorded themselves. It’s a great song but the radio station in it’s Ivory Tower won’t touch it because it’s “New Music”. So the band keeps pushing in other areas, get’s a plugger and pr and next thing they are performing on TV and doing interviews in the press. They’re now hot property but no thanks to radio.

However the radio station which turned them away now wants a piece of them and puts the single on heavy rotation. And why do radio stations play music? That’s right – to draw in the listeners…. ooo hang on a minute…. talk about “cake and eat it”

So radio needs to get some responsibility and grow up. Yes it is frustration when you own a small independent record label and you need some help from, let’s face it, organisations that you will be helping when you’re big and famous.

If you want to hear how radio should be done then join me every morning Monday to Friday 7-10 www.cheshirefm.com or if you’re in Mid-Cheshire tune in to 92.5FM

Love and Peace,

Chris x ;)

Well it’s been a busy year 2008 and 2009 is going to be even busier. HOLICE are not releasing any more singles now until next February when they will be not only releasing their next single, but also their debut studio album which has yet to be titled.

Anything released now will just get caught up in all of the seasonal releases so energy is going to be focused on said album which will be hitting the stores February ‘09.

Have a great Christmas from HOLICE and we’ll see you in the New Year.

If you’re thinking “It’s been a bit quiet on the HOLICE front” you would be wrong. HOLICE have in fact been very busy producing and recording their next single. However this one has taken a little longer due to a busy schedule. So don’t worry – they will be poking their head up again in the next week or two with some exciting news.
